Olena has always been inspired by nature, which is reflected in her philosophy and artistic approach. Her appreciation for raw, unadulterated materials is what sparked her interest in the art of wet felting in 2018.

Wet felting is a versatile technique which is used to create an assortment of items from natural materials like merino wool, viscose, and silk. Pani arranges the raw materials in a manner reflective of the final design, on a reusable template. The fibres are moistened with hot, soapy water and rolled up together with the template. The roll is then rubbed and kneaded by hand, facilitating the intertwining of the individual fibres. The garment is then allowed to dry before it is moistened and processed again. After several repetitive processing phases, the felted fabric is fully formed as the garment reaches its final size.
