At Kindred Coast, they start off with a design, an idea of what they would like to print. Hannah gets down to drawing the design, and they collaborate on the final image. From there, they make their screen – by stretching the mesh, covering the screen with emulsion, and then finally burning the image into it. Once the screen is complete, they are able to print that design onto their custom-made clothing. All the clothing items they use are made in Canada, out of sustainable materials. They hand screenprint the design onto the shirts, using eco-friendly, water-based inks that don’t wash out or fade. They heat set each garment, and then it’s onto folding and tagging, ready for market!

Kindred Coast also has a hand in designing the garments themselves, choosing the best eco-friendly options every step of the way. Making everyday wearable and sustainable clothing is important to them, and they don’t want to compromise the health of the earth to do it. Their aim is to make slow fashion that lasts for years, not just a season.
