Inspired by the west coast of Canada, Shannon creates jewelry representing Canada’s beautiful natural surroundings. Originally from British Columbia, Shannon’s inspiration came from iconic flora and fauna on the west coast of BC. A relocation to Calgary AB inspired new pieces representing her journey through the Rocky Mountains. Each piece has a story and inspiration behind it.

Ebony + Sparrow jewelry is created in Shannon’s home studio nestled in the NW of Calgary. Shannon is the sole maker, designer, creator, photographer and everything in between. Everything is made by hand from sheet metal or wire, with the exception of the small delicate chain and ear nuts. This is mainly due to studio space limitations. If she can make a component, she does. Her goal is to create as much of her jewelry from raw materials as possible. She doesn’t use pre-made components. Every jump ring, setting, shape, and ring, is carefully handcrafted by her.

Ebony + Sparrow metals are responsibly sourced from North America and the UK and contain no lead, nickel, or cadmium. The silver and solid gold come from recycled sources, and she sources the gemstones first from ethical sources. Ebony + Sparrow continues to strive for improvements in order to become more environmentally responsible and ethical.
