ABSTRACT ELEMENTS
Jessica Broz creates distinctive lamps by upcycling found bases and crafting pendant lamps and bases from porcelain clay. She also produces unique ceramic pieces using techniques such as obvara, in which a piece is removed from the kiln at around 1000 degrees and dipped into a solution. As it’s pulled out, the solution burns onto the surface, creating one-of-a-kind patterns. All of her work is handmade, often using altered wheel-thrown forms.
